Application
Marine & Mooring Rope
Anchor, mooring, dock and utility lines for boats and ships — where the floating/sinking and stretch decisions actually matter.
What this application actually demands
- Match fiber to behavior: floating (PP/PE) vs shock absorption (nylon) vs position holding (polyester)
- UV and abrasion resistance for deck exposure
- Construction matched to hardware: winches, cleats, chocks
- Clear specification: diameter, length, terminations (eye splice, thimble)
Recommended combinations
| Material | Construction | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Polyamide (Nylon / PA) | 3 Strand Twisted Rope | Elastic shock absorption for anchor and mooring loads |
| Polyamide (Nylon / PA) | Double Braided Rope | Premium dock lines — strong, supple, cleat-friendly |
| Polypropylene (PP) | 8 Strand Plaited Rope | Floating, torque-free, economical large-diameter mooring |
| Polypropylene (PP) | Hollow Braided Rope | Floating utility lines, buoy lines, water-ski tow lines |
Products for marine & mooring rope
Nylon 3 Strand Twisted Rope
Three strands of high-tenacity polyamide twisted into the classic anchor and mooring rope.
Nylon Double Braided Rope (Dock Line)
A braided nylon core inside a braided nylon jacket for dock-line and mooring inquiries.
PP Multifilament 8 Strand Mooring Rope
An eight-strand polypropylene rope for mooring inquiries where large diameter, handling and flotation are part of the technical requirement.
PP Hollow Braided Rope
A core-less braided polypropylene rope used where flexible handling, easy splicing and surface flotation are relevant.
Polyester 3 Strand Twisted Rope
A three-strand polyester rope considered for outdoor utility and marine applications where low stretch and weather exposure matter.
Buying tips
- State finished length and termination (eye splice size, thimble) in the RFQ — “100 m rope” is ambiguous
- Diameter does not equal strength — compare specified breaking load for the exact construction, from the supplier
- Mooring lines for commercial vessels may fall under class/flag rules — confirm documentation needs before ordering
